For the month of February, we're looking forward to featuring art from Kate Diebels!
A Juneau artist, Kate's show will be featuring her original paintings in watercolor and acrylic. Kate enjoys taking in all the Juneau beauty and trying to capture some of that with paint. All those misty trees and mountains, mossy forests, and spacious views just don't get old. While nature is a constant source of inspiration for her art, she also loves other whimsical creations, usually with bright colors.
This show is a bit of an artistic experiment. With one month's time, Kate had some ideas, plenty of supplies, and the ability to take some extra days off work to see what she could produce. Kate's show is a mix of large and small pieces, watercolor and acrylic, natural world and whimsical imaginings. The show is far from cohesive, but such is the nature of her artistic approach and dabbling. Kate considers herself an emerging artist, but anticipates a long, lovely artistic adventure here in Juneau!
Kate is an artist with many talents who also makes handmade baby booties! We've offered these for a little while now and folks just love them! Locally made and in the classic "xtra tuff" color scheme.
Work from our featured artist will be on display throughout the month of February. Join us for the opening on First Friday, February 7, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm for the show opening and to have the best selection.
