July Featured Artists |
While the Fourth of July is always fun in Juneau, especially with the great weather forecast for this year, the real fireworks begin two days later with the First Friday art walk! This month Annie Kaill's is featuring four artists in an all-female show.
Constance Baltuck is a Juneau artist who works in both abstract and landscape genres.
New work by Baltuck blends abstraction and representation in a celebration of color and Nature in large acrylic paintings on gessobord panels. She will also be presenting a series of small framed Plein air watercolors of scenes painted in and around Juneau.
Mandy Heck is a local artist who creates detailed drawings of local wildlife. Her work is presented in miniature original drawings, framed and ready to hang or display. Anything local and wild is included, from ravens and eagles to whales and bears. Enjoy a selection of Mandy's latest work in July!
What woman doesn't love a great handbag? Erin with Willow + Luna hand crafts her bags right here in Juneau to be functional, high-quality, and fashionable. Erin will be showing a collection of new bags and we'll have them prominently displayed all month. In addition to handbags, she also makes side bags, backpacks, and more.
Last but not least, we are featuring new work from J.A. Jules, the jewelry line from local artist Jayne Andreen. Andreen tells us, "This golden citrine necklace reminds me of the wonderful summer sunshine days we have in Juneau... a bit irregular, which makes them all that much more wonderful when we have them. I've also been playing with some wonderful new gemstones - rubies, aquamarine, London blue topaz and sapphires." See the new collection featured all month long!
Work from our four wonderful guest artists will be featured throughout the month of July. Join us for the opening on First Friday, July 6, from 4:30 to 7:00 pm to meet the artists and to have the best selection.

New Art Released and Updates |
We've been busy updating our catalogs and as a result have five new art updates to share!
First, a brand new catalog. Internationally recognized artist Grant Pecoff has released a series of Alaska-theme prints, and we are honored to represent him here in Juneau. Pecoff is a widely collected modern artist with his home gallery and studio in San Diego. For his Alaska collection, he released seven prints, such as "Alaska Moonrise" shown here.
Ketchikan artist and illustrator Evon Zerbetz has released a couple new prints for summer 2018. Her prints are hand-painted linoleum block prints, so each is actually touched by the artist and is in a way an original piece. New releases include "The Mountains are Calling" and "Tide Pooling" shown here.
Enjoy a refreshed selection of original paintings from artist Richard Weathermon this summer. A retired school teacher, Weathermon took up oil painting as his second career and regularly provides us with new work featuring the local area. These are small original oils at a great price point that makes them easy to collect and gift.
Local artist Candice Christie left us with several original artworks following her show here earlier this summer. A modern artist, Christie's latest work falls into two categories. First, mixed media collage which has been her bread and butter over the years, and we have a handful of new pieces in that genre. Second, a collection of cold wax and oil work, such as the "Horizon Lines" series piece shown here.
Finally, we're excited to have some new designs and updated stock from Artie George. A Northwest native artist, George make miniature carvings which are hand-carved and painted in traditional designs. The carvings are then mounted in a shadowbox for display. Introducing new designs for 2018 including two new hummingbird designs and a new killer whale design.
Enjoy work by all of these artists in the gallery now, and see more of their newest work at www.anniekaills.com.
