For the month of March, Annie Kaill's is featuring local artist Hollis Kitchen.
Hollis likes to make art. She is a big fan of rain, mountain fog, the Alaskan wilderness, cooking, and historical fashion. Art has always been part of her life: Hollis began playing with color at age 3, and carried this love into adulthood, graduating with her BA in Art from the University of Alaska Southeast in 2012. Hollis is a lifelong Alaskan who has called Juneau home since 2008. When she's not making art, Hollis is well-known for helping women find fabulously fitting bras at Bustin' Out Boutique, a premium women's store in downtown Juneau.
For the March exhibition, Hollis will be showing a mix of original landscape paintings, Juneau scenes and illustrations, as well as prints of her watercolors. Some of her work is strictly watercolor or gouache and others also include ink. Themes of her work include foggy mountains, playful illustrations, and capturing feelings of specific seasons of the year. Hollis's March show will include paintings of landscapes, wildlife, and botanical subjects. Many of the paintings evoke the different seasons of our beautiful surroundings - thus the show title "Seasons of Juneau."
Work from our featured artist will be on display throughout the month of March. Join us for the opening on First Friday, March 6, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm for the show opening and to have the best selection.
