October Featured Artist: Jenna O'Fontanella

Our October 2019 featured artist is Jenna O'Fontanella! Jenna is a Juneau-based jewelry artist creating hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind designs. Her October show is titled "Moving Forward" and features a brand new collection of jewelry.

Jenna O'FontanellaBy day, Jenna is a health care professional. In her professional work she is always interested in getting the patients story. By hearing their story it allows her to meet them where they are at with an understanding of where they've been.

For Jenna, the same is true with jewelry. When she sees a piece of jewelry she often wonders, what is it's story? Each of her pieces have their own story. Some stories are of complete failure and having to start over and over again, some are of having a mind of their own even though she thinks it should go one way it comes out completely different, and then there are some where all of the stars align and it comes out just as she planned. Some she adores and some not so much but they often grow on her as they metamorphosis.

Jenna O'FontanellaWhat all of Jenna's pieces have in common is that they are beautifully and thoughtfully crafted by hand, and no two pieces are the same. Her most recent pieces incorporate sterling silver, steel, copper, brass, gold, wire, gems, beads and found objects. Jenna makes pendants, bracelets, earrings, and rings.

Enjoy Jenna's new original jewelry collection for the month of October. The show opens during First Friday on October 4, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Work from our featured artist will be on display all month long.
